How to donate

Gaia House needs your help!

We are deeply grateful for any support you can contribute.

Dana or generosity is an essential part of the Buddhist tradition which enables the teachers to offer their teachings freely at Gaia House and online.

If you wish to support Gaia House by financially contributing, please select from the funds below.

Further down the page, you will find information about setting up a regular donation, bequests, cheques, and making an anonymous donation.

Gaia House is currently not able to open for our usual Group, Personal and Work retreats due to the lockdown caused by the corona virus pandemic. We are, however, still incurring many of the costs that would normally be covered by the income received through the fees paid when you come on these retreats. Some costs will reduce – food and energy; and staff costs are being partly covered by the government supported job retentions scheme. There are however significant other costs that we will struggle to cover without dipping into our reserves, which are necessary for the future sustainability and  development of Gaia House. Since the lockdown came into place we have been working intensely to process the refund of fees paid for cancelled retreats with a team of 3 working hard on this and arranging for the online retreats to be set up and made available.

Any support you can give to the General Fund is greatly appreciated at this difficult time. Your donations will help us to continue to sustain both our historic building and the skeleton team supporting our Dharma teachers with their online dharma offerings.

The livelihood of most Gaia House Teachers depends wholly, or to a large extent, on the generosity and voluntary contributions from retreatants who value their guidance and wish to support the on-going teachings of the Dharma. If you wish to give Dana to the teachers who lead a particular retreat then please specify this in the notes section on the checkout page.

The cost of retreats is kept as low as possible to ensure that everyone who seeks the wisdom of the Dharma can attend. With this intention in mind Gaia House offers the option of supported and subsidised rates, as well as assistance through the FAB Fund, to those for whom the standard rate is too high.

Our FAB Fund is funded through cancellation fees, sponsor rates on group retreats and generous donations from retreatants.

In 2018, 21% of all places on retreats were supported by the FAB Fund. It is a very important way for Gaia House to fulfil its purpose of making the teachings of the Dharma available to all.

If you have benefited from a retreat at Gaia House, this is a wonderful opportunity to express generosity towards other people for whom the cost of coming on retreat is too high.

Due to the current corona virus pandemic the coordinator role is not in place.  These people are now in a caretaker and shelter role within Gaia House.
