A Gaia House online retreat with Zohar Lavie and Nathan Glyde

Retreat description

Life is always uncertain, but these days it’s profoundly and clearly felt. When we meet this we may shut down, become stressed, or seek distraction. This is understandable, yet it leads us away from well-being. Dharma teachings invite us towards a wiser, calmer, and kinder alternative. We can compose and steady the mind through practice: gaining greater clarity and embodying greater care towards what is happening. We can encourage the heart to open from contraction: expanding the possibilities of a deeper more skilful response. These Dharma skills of awakening resource us for meeting our sensitive hearts and living well in the midst of life.


The days will include meditation guidance, talks and interviews with the teachers.

We request all participants to consider attending as much of the retreat as you can manage.

We particularly would like you to attend the sessions shown in bold, if you are unable to attend in person, please listen to the recordings as soon as you can.

We also request a commitment to attend your small group interview meetings (listening groups) with one of the teachers during the retreat.

Please note the online meditation hall will not close during this retreat, so you may join the room whenever you wish in addition to the times above.

None of your registration fee goes to the teachers. Gaia House teachers rely on the generosity of students for their livelihood. There will be an opportunity to make a dāna offering to your teacher(s) at the end of the event.

Well-being guidelines - please click here to read before booking

Before you book, please read these guidelines about mental well-being and silent retreats:

Meditation retreats can be very nourishing; however, as they require sustained meditation practice, they also need some stability of psychological health. If you have recently (within the past year or so) experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or if you are currently experiencing acute emotional distress such as serious depression or anxiety, it may not be the best time for you to participate in a retreat. The teachers might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care you need at this time. A setting with more opportunities for interpersonal engagement may be more appropriate.

  • If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience.
