Retreat description
Timeless presence in daily life
Exploring the possibility of being grounded in the depth of timeless presence in the midst of daily life. We will inquire how to live a full life from silence and emptiness, and yet being yourself in peace with others, and doing what needs to be done.
A morning of retreat is, for a brief time, to stop the momentum of the world so that which is profound and real may emerge and be embodied. A human life infused with meaning, freedom and love, a fulfilling life, means to develop a taste for certain values; a taste for truth, depth and simplicity of being. You do not need to achieve these qualities, you just need to appreciate them and orient yourself towards them, allowing yourself the time and opportunity for them to emerge and become an integrated part of your life. With a spirit of curiosity and kindness, we will engage in meditative and inquiry practices that support realignment, deep rest, letting go and embodiment.
If you have the possibility you may wish to spend this day in silence and use the morning teaching and practice as the start of a day of retreat.
This morning will explore:
How can we feel at home in our own skin and in the very circumstances of our life? How can we awaken an awareness and a heart that embraces life, dukkha and beyond?
To live life with integrity, sensitivity and openness requires heart presence. It is in the heart that we digest life experience and it is the heart of compassion, kindness and equanimity that can embrace the challenges and the sorrow of life. To know our heart is to be intimate with life, the meaning and the joy of living.

Well-being guidelines - please click here to read before booking Before you book, please read these guidelines about mental well-being and silent retreats: Meditation retreats can be very nourishing; however, as they require sustained meditation practice, they also need some stability of psychological health. If you have recently (within the past year or so) experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or if you are currently experiencing acute emotional distress such as serious depression or anxiety, it may not be the best time for you to participate in a retreat. The teachers might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care you need at this time. A setting with more opportunities for interpersonal engagement may be more appropriate.
