“A human life infused with natural beauty, a fulfilling life, means to develop a taste for certain values; a taste for truth, depth and simply being. These qualities are present all the time, you don’t have to achieve them, you just need to appreciate them and orient yourself towards them so that you allow yourself the time and opportunity for them to emerge.”

We invite you to a retreat exploring the possibility of being grounded in the natural goodness of being. We will inquire how to live a full life from the ground of presence, and being yourself in peace with others. With a spirit of curiosity and kindness, we’ll open to a direct experience of clear wakeful presence and engage in practices that support realignment, deep rest and embodiment. Becoming intimate, moment by moment, with living reality expands our life-perspective and attunes us to what really matters in life.

This retreat supports the possibility of mind-heart-body fullness, and as we unwind our physical and mental contractions, the unveiling of our boundless nature as well as the warmth, beauty and wisdom of the body.

Mental well-being guidelines - please click here to read before booking

Before you book, please read these guidelines about mental well-being and silent retreats:

Intensive silent meditation retreats can be very nourishing; however, as they require sustained meditation practice, they also need some stability of psychological health. If you have recently (within the past year or so) experienced significant trauma or psychiatric illness, or if you are currently experiencing acute emotional distress such as serious depression or anxiety, it may not be the best time for you to attend an intensive retreat in silence. The teachers might not be able to give you the kind of individual psychological care you need at this time. A setting with more opportunities for interpersonal engagement may be more appropriate.

  • If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, please discuss your attendance with them. You should be in a relatively stable period of mental well-being and have adequate psychological resilience to attend an intensive silent retreat.
  • Please be prepared to offer your mental health professional's contact information to the teachers on the opening day if requested.
  • If you have any questions about this, please contact: retreatmanager@gaiahouse.co.uk
