A retreat experience…
We’ve journeyed to this place
To look deeper inside
To the inner silence, inner space,
From which we often hide.
Walking around with souls hanging out,
Fragility hangs loose,
Vulnerability bravely exposed,
Slackening the noose
Of everyday demands and pressures;
For here, and now, they do not matter.
Here, alone together
In collective solitude,
No words need be exchanged
To know the magnitude
Of love and of connection
With a perfect stranger.
For here there is compassion;
Here there is no danger.
So in silence we sit, or walk, or stand,
Or stretch, or breathe, and understand
That all is flux and constant process,
And life is good,
When you notice.
